This installation is a sketch that plays with how real and fictional scenarios interlace within an overlapping of physical or imagined spaces. Thereby, using film scripts as a storytelling device to weave real, fiction, and sampled dialogues whereupon the characters reminisces on past moments from the disruptions caused by their relocation from mainland China to Taiwan. The selection of these conversations is a part of my ongoing research to relearn my ancestors’ diaspora through the representation of films. Comparably, the nuances in the films’ dialogues share parallels to the stories retold by my grandmother and other relatives.
